Rava Pongal



Ingredients:

Rava - 1 cup
Moong dal - 1/4 cup
Pepper corns - 1 tsp
Cashews - 5-6
Cumin seeds - 1 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves - Little
Ghee - 2 tbsp
Water - 2 1/2 cup
Salt - As reqd

Method:
  • Dry roast dal and add little water and pressure cook and set aside.
  • Now in a pan add ghee and add cumin seeds.
  • Then add pepper corns, cashews and curry leaves.
  • Saute for a while and set aside.
  • Now in same pan add ghee and roast rava till raw smell goes.
  • Now low the range and add boiled dal and add water.
  • Add requied salt and mix well and cover and cook for 8-10 mins.
  • Finally add the fried stuff (cashews, curry leaves etc) and mix well.
  • Rava pongal is ready and goes good with chutney/sambar.
Note:
Add water acc as we add water for boiling dal too.
