Ingredients:
Brinjal - 4
Big onion - 1
Tomato - 1
Drumstick - 5-6 pieces
Green Chilly - 2
Sambar thool - 2 tsp
Tamrind - small piece
Garlic - 5-6
Clove - 1
Green elaichi - 1
Cinamon stick - small piece
Curry Leaves - Little
Coriander leaves - Little
Salt, Water, Oil - As reqd
To Grind:
Coconut - 1 tbsp
Poppy seeds - 1/2 tsp + Little more
Gram dal - 1 tsp
Fennel seeds - 1/4 tsp
Small onion - 2-3
Method:
- Soak poppy seeds in little water and add it while grinding.
- Grind items under to grind and set aside.
- Cut brinjals and soak in water and set aside.
- Soak tamrind in water.
- Heat oil in pan and add clove, cinamon, elaichi and curry leaves
- Add in onion, green chilly and garlic and saute for a while.
- Add tomatoes and cook till it turns mushy.
- Now add brinjals and drumstick and mix well.
- Add tamrind water, salt, grinded paste and sambar thool and mix well.
- Add water if needed and let it boil for few mins.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and serve masala kozhambu.
