Almond Oats Cookies #1



Ingredients:
Wheat flour - 1/2 cup
Almond powder - 1/4 cup
Milk powder - 2 tbsp
Powdered oats - 1/4 cup
Jaggery powder - 4 tbsp or Brown Sugar - 4 tbsp
Wheat bran - 1 tbsp
Milk - 1-2 tbsp
Ghee - 3 tbsp (refrigerate for 30 mins and use)
Oil - 2 tbsp
Almonds - few (Chop)

Method:

  • In a bowl add ghee, oil, salt and jaggery powder and whisk well.
  • Add a tbsp of milk and whisk again.
  • Add in sifted wheat flour, oats powder and milk powder.
  • Add this to wet ingredients and mix well.
  • Do not knead.
  • Add in chopped almonds and mix it.
  • If its loose add dough or if it is dry add 1 tbsp milk.
  • Cover the dough and set aside for 30 mins.
  • Roll out the dough and cut into desired shapes.
  • Arrange them in a lined baking tray.
  • Bake this in a preheated oven (OTG) at 170°C for in 12-15 mins.
  • Let it cool and then store.
Note:

I did'nt have wheat bran so skipped it.


Toddler Bites

Ingredients:
Wheat flour - 2/3 cup
Ghee - 4 tbsp
Jaggery powder - 4 tbsp
Milk - 1-2 tbsp

Method:

  • Grind jaggery if there are any grits.
  • In a bowl add ghee and jaggery powder and cream well.
  • Sift flour and to jaggery powder and ghee mix.
  • It should be a sticky dough.
  • If it is dry add milk and make the dough.
  • Do not knead, just cover and set aside for 20 mins.
  • Roll out the dough and make desired shapes.
  • Arrange them in a lined baking tray.
  • Bake them in a preheated oven (OTG) at 170°C for 12-13 mins.
  • Cool this and store.

Carrot Kheer Puree




Ingredients:

Carrot - 8
Sugar - 1/2 cup

Method:

  • Peel the skin and boil carrots.
  • Let this cool and blend it a smooth paste.
  • Heat a pan and add sugar like 1/2 cup and then add blended paste.
  • Cook in low flame till raw smell goes.
  • Let it cool and store in air tight container.
  • Use in recipe of your choice.
  • Increase or decrease sugar to your taste.
Note:
You can reduce sugar amount while feeding babies.

Apple Sauce

Ingredients:

Apple - 1
Water - 1/2 cup

Method:
  • Wash and peel apple skin.
  • Chop it off.
  • Add little water to this and pressure cook for 2 whistles.
  • Transfer this to a blender and make a fine paste.
  • Yummy sauce is ready.

Note:

While giving for babies, you can add little honey or sugar and feed them.

Baked Carrot Chips




Baked Chips 


B4 baking
Ingredients:

Carrot - 1
Salt -1/8 tsp
Olive Oil - 1/2 tsp
Pepper power - 1/2 tsp

Method:
  • Grated the carrot in desired shape.
  • Add this to a microwave safe bowl.
  • Add in oil, salt and pepper powder.
  • Toss them well.
  • Microwave on high for 3 mins or until crisp.

Note:

  • Check after 2 mins and adjust timing accordingly.
  • Can skip pepper powder and give this baked carrot for kids(above 1 1/2 yrs).

MurungaKeerai (Moringa) soup

Ingredients:
Murungakeerai - 1/4 cup
Thoor dal - 1/2 cup
Turmeric powder - 1/8 tsp
Salt - 1/8 tsp
Pepper powder - 1 tsp
Hing - a pinch

Method:
  • In a bowl add dal, turmeric powder, hing and water.
  • Pressure cook this.
  • Once done mash it.
  • Add in fresh murungakeerai and cover the bowl with lid for 3-4 mins.
  • Then remove the leaves off.
  • Season with pepper and salt.

Banana Porridge


Ingredients:

Banana - 1 (peeled)
Nuts Powder - 1 tsp
Milk - 4 tbsp
Rice Kanji Mix - 1 tbsp
Jaggery - 1 tsp

Method:

  • Blend banana with milk and nuts powder.
  • Boil 3 tbsp of milk and add to rice kanji with jaggery.
  • Mix it up and then add blended puree.
  • Feed it when warm.

Banana Nuts Porridge

Ingredients:

Hot Milk - 1/4 cup
Banana - 4 piece
Jaggery - 1 tsp
Nuts Powder - 1 tbsp

Method:
  • Add little milk and blend all.
  • Transfer this to a bowl and add remaining milk.
  • Serve this healthy porridge.
Note:
  • I am giving this for my one year old baby.

Rice Porridge


Ingredients:
Idly Rice - 2 cups
Gram dal/pottukadalai - 1 cup

Method:
  • Wash rice and strain water and spread in a cloth.
  • Place this in a shadowy place.
  • Add gram dal and blend together.
  • Store this in air tight container.
Type #1:
  • Take 2 tbsp of this and add sugar or any sweetener.
  • Add hot water and mix well and set aside for a min.
  • Feed your baby.
Type #2:
  • Take 2 tbsp of this and add salt.
  • Add hot water and mix well and set aside for a min.
  • Feed your baby.
Note: 
In both types you can add hot milk instead of water.

Poha Cerelac


Ingredients:
Red Rice Poha - 1 cup
Panakarkandu powder- 1/3 cup

Method:
  • Dry roast the poha till it changes in color.
  • Transfer this to mixer and add panakarkandu powder.
  • Blend this nicely.
  • Let it cool and store in air tight container.
Note:
  • Take 2 tbsp of this and add hot water.
  • Mix well and feed your baby.




Double Booster Cerelac


Ingredients:
Multigrain Atta- 3/4 cup
Wheat Flour - 1/4 cup
Butter - 1/4 cup
Nuts Powder - 1/4 cup
Raisins - 6
Panakarkandu powder - 1/4 cup

Method:
  • In a bowl take multigrain atta, palm sugar, wheat flour.
  • Add nuts powder, raisins and mix well.
  • Take the chilled butter and melt it.
  • Add this to flour mixture and mix till you get crumb texture.
  • Now add water slowly till you attain a soft dough.
  • Knead the dough thin and prick with fork.
  • Cut it into small squares.
  • Place butter paper in a baking tray and places these squares on it.
  • Preheat the oven(OTG) at 180°C and bake for 15-20 mins.
  • Do check in between and corner squares turn brown take that off.
  • Bake the rest till done.
  • Cool this completely.
  • The baked biscuits should be crisp.
  • Add this to mixer jar and grind coarsely.
  • Let it cool and then store in an air tight container.
  • It will be good for a month.
Note:
Take 2tbsp of this powder and add hot water to this.

Nuts Powder


Ingredients:
Whole Cashews - 1/2 cup
Badam - 1/2 cup
Pistachios -  2 tbsp
Green Elaichi - 3

Method:
  • Dry roast the ingredients and set aside.
  • Peel the elaichi skin and keep.
  • Now grind this coarsely.
  • Let it cool and store in a air tight container.
  • Refrigerate it, stays good for 3 months.
Note:
  • Don't grind for long time as badam leaves oil.
  • And this will not give a coarse powder.
Uses:
  • This can be mixed in cerelac and can be fed to babies above 10 month.
  • Can be used in deserts, milkshakes etc.

Mashed Veggies

Ingredients:

Carrot - small Piece
Baby Potato - 1
Green Peas - 5-6
Salt - a pinch

Method:

  • Pressure the veggies for 2 whistles.
  • Before mashing remove the green peas skin.
  • Mash the veggies and add salt.
  • Feed the baby.

Note:
  • Consult doctor before starting any new food.
  • You can use a piece of regular potato too.
  • Gradually increase the quantity as they grow.
  • The above suits for babies above 6 months.

Greens Soup

Ingredients:
Greens (Murunga Keerai) - 6- 8 leves
Dal Water - 6 tbsp
Salt - a pinch
Pepper Powder - a pinch (optional)

Method:

  • Reserve a cup of dal water from your daily cooking.
  • When it is hot,add greens and let it sit for 3-4 mins.
  • Strain and remove leaves.
  • Add salt and pepper powder and feed the baby.

Note:
  • Consult doctor before starting any new food.
  • Gradually increase the quantity as they grow.
  • Add in little ghee if using pepper powder.
  • The above suits for babies above 7 months.

Vegetable Stock Soup

Ingredients:

Vegetable stock - 6 tbsp
Salt - a pinch
Pepper powder - a pinch(optional)

Method:

  • You can strain the water which you use to boil daily veggies.
  • Boil that water and in salt and pepper powder.
  • Feed your baby the simple and healthy soup.
Note:
  • Consult doctor before starting any new food.
  • Gradually increase the quantity as they grow.
  • If you add pepper powder(optional), add little ghee.
  • The above suits for babies above 6 months.

Dal Soup


Ingredients:

Thor / Moong Dal - 1 tbsp
Turmeric - a pinch
Water - 3 tbsp
Salt - a pinch

Method:

  • Add water to dal and pressure cook.
  • Mash the dal and add water and salt to it.
  • Feed the baby the protein rich soup.


Note:

  • Consult doctor before starting any new food.
  • Gradually increase the quantity as they grow.
  • The above suits for babies above 6 months.


Apple Puree


Ingredients:

Apple - 1
Water - 2 tbsp

Method:

  • Wash apple and peel its skin.
  • Cut it into cubes.
  • Add little water and pressure cook for 3 whistles.
  • Mash it and when it is luke warm feed the baby.

Note: 

  • I started solids as per my pediatricians advice.
  • So consult doctor before starting any new food.
  • Initially I started with a small piece of apple(when my kid was 6 months).
  • Gradually increase the quantity as they grow.
  • The above suits for babies above 10 months.
