Sakkarai Pongal


Ingredients:

   Raw Rice - 1 cup
   Moong dhal - 1 tbsp
   Milk - 1/4 cup (karandi)
   Water - 1 1/2 cups
   Jaggery - 2 cups or sugar - 2 cups
   Elaichi powder - Pinch
   Ghee - As Reqd
   Cashews and raisins - 5- 8 each

Method:


  •  In a bowl add rice, dhal, water and milk and boil it and keep aside.
  •  Heat a pan and add ghee and fry cashews and raisins and keep aside.
  •  Now in the same pan add ghee and then boiled mixture.
  •  Add Jaggery and mix well. (if you use sugar then add it and use food color).
  • Cook in low range. 
  • Once all mixed together add cashews and raisins and a pinch elaichi powder.
  • Add ghee before serving.
