SemiyaRava Kichadi


Ingredients:

Semiya - 1 cup
Rava - 1/3 cup
Green Chilly - 1 (slit)
Ginger garlic paste - 1 1/2 tsp
Onion - 1 (fine chop)
Tomato - 1 (fine chop)
Vegetables - 1 cup(carrot, peas)
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Lemon juice - 2 tsp
Cashews - 6-8
Corainder Leaves
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Urad dal - 3/4 tsp
Ghee - 2 tsp
Oil - 2 tsp
Water - 2 1/4 cups
Salt - As reqd

Method:

  • Pressure cook veegetables for 1 whistle.
  • Strain water and set aside.
  • Heat ghee in pan and roast cashews and set aside.
  • In same pan roast semiya and set aside.
  • Now roast rava for few mins and set aside.
  • Heat oil in pan and add mustard seeds and cumins seeds.
  • Add in chilly, curry leaves, ginger garlic paste and saute well.
  • Add in onions and saute well.
  • Now add tomatoes and cook till it turns mushy.
  • Add in cooked vegetables and mix well.
  • Add in turmeric powder and salt and saute.
  • Add 2 1/4 cups and let it boil.
  • Add roasted semiya and mix well.
  • Once it is 3/4th done add in roasted rava and mix well.
  • It will be mushy.
  • Cover and cook in low flame for 3-4 mins.
  • Add ghee, lemon juice and mix well.
  • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and roasted cashews.
  • Serve kichadi with coconut chutney.
