Mysore pak

 

Ingredients:

Kadala maav / Besan flour - 93 g
Sugar - 150 g
Oil - 130 ml
Ghee - 130 ml
Water - 75 ml

Method:

  • In a pan add ghee and oil in a bowl.
  • Warm it in low flame.
  • Now take 1/2 cup of this in a separate bowl.
  • In other bowl add in kadala maav and pour the remaining warm ghee and oil.
  • Whisk till smooth without lumps.
  • Now in other pan add in sugar and water and mix well.
  • Cook in medium flame till you get one string consistency.
  • Now add the kadala maav mix and mix well.
  • Add in reserved 1/2 cup ghee and oil to this and mix well.
  • Cook in low flame till it thickens, it takes app 5 mins.
  • Keep stirring.
  • Now turn off range and stir the mix for 1 min.
  • Pour this in a greased pan(grease a pan with ghee).
  • Spread it evenly and leave it undisturbed for 15-20 mins.
  • Demould and slice it.
  • It yielded 9 pieces each weighed 46 g.
