Varutha Molaga Thokku


Ingredients:

Dry Red Chilly - 10
Onion - 1 (meidum size)
Small Onion - 12
Garlic pods - 4-5
Tamrind - small piece
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Curry Leaves - A sprig
Salt, Oil, Water - As Reqd

Method:

  • Heat oil in pan and add small onion, big onion and garlic.
  • Saute this for a while and transfer to a blender.
  • Now add little oil and add in red chilly and saute till it turns black.
  • Once done, transfer to blender.
  • Add in salt, tamrind and little water and blend this to a paste.
  • Heat oil in pan and add mustard seeds and curry leaves.
  • And then add grinded paste and cook in low flame for 3-4 mins.
  • Goes good with idly, dosa and even bread.
