Raw rice - 3 cups
Water - 2 cups
Upma:
Arisi upma noi - 1 cup
Water - 1 1/4 cup
Onion - 1 (fine chop)
Green Chilly - 2
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Channa dal - 1 tsp
Curry Leaves - Little
Hing - a pinch
Salt, Oil - As reqd
Method:
Water - 1 1/4 cup

Method:
- Wash and soak rice for 30 mins.
- Strain water and spread the rise in a muslin cloth.
- Let it sit till all water is absorbed.
- Transfer the rice to a plate and spread it.
- Let it sun dry for a day.
- Then blend it coarsely and seive it.
- Transfer to plate.
- Again sun dry it and store in air tight container.
- Use it when needed.
- Heat oil in pan and add mustard, cumin seeds and channa dal.
- Add in curry leaves and once it splutters add onion.
- Saute for a while and then add chillies.
- Add water and when it boil add in hing.
- Add reqd salt and then arisi upma noi and mix well.
- Cover and cook in low flame for 20-25 mins.
- Serve with coconut chutney or idly podi.
