Parupu Urundai Kuzhambu #1


Ingredients:

For Kolambu:
  Tamrind - lemon size (soak in water)
  Small Onion - 15 finely chopped
  Garlic Pods - 10 pods finely chopped
  Sambar Thool - 1 tbsp
  Salt - to taste(add acc as we add salt to urundai)
  Water, oil - As reqd

Temper:
  Mustard, cumin seeds, curry leaves.

For Urundai:
  Channa Dhal - 1 cup (soak n water for an hr)
  Fennel Seeds- 1 tbsp
  Red Chilly - 2 no.
  Salt - As reqd.

Method:


  • Grind the ingrdients given under urundai without water and make small balls and keep aside.
  • Heat oil and add items under temper.
  • Then add onion and garlic pods and saute till color changes.
  • Add sambar thool and salt.
  • Then add tamrind water and reqd water.
  • When it reduces in quantity add the urundai.
  • Let it boil only for few minutes.
  • Add a jaggery piece and garnish with corriander leaves.
