Ingredients:
Onion - 1 (finely chopped)
Vazhakaai - 2
Mustard seeds - 12/ tsp
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Urad dal - 1/4 tsp
Sambar thool - 1 1/2 tbsp
Curry Leaves - Little
Hing - Little
Oil,Salt, Water - As reqd
Method:
- Boil water in pan and add vazhakaai (just cut edges and add).
- Cover and cook for 5 mins.
- Strain the water and peel the skin.
- Grate this and keep aside.
- Heat oil in pan and add mustard,cumin and urad dal.
- Once it splutters add curry leaves and onion.
- Saute for a while and add grated stuff.
- Add salt and sambar thool and mix well.
- Cook in low range for few mins.
- Vazhakaai podimaas ready.
Note:
Should not boil vazhakaai for long time.
