Karuvaepillai (Curry Leaves)Thuvayal


Ingredients:

Curry Leaves - 1 cup
Coconut - 1/4 cup
Pottukadalai - 1/4 cup
Dry Red Chilly - 4
Garlic - 4
Tamrind - small piece
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Salt, Oil, Water - As reqd

Method:

  • Heat little oil in pan and add chilly and garlic and saute.
  • Add tamrind piece and saute for few seconds and transfer to a bowl.
  • Add washed curry leaves to this and saute for 3 mins.
  • Now transfer this to bowl.
  • Add coconut, salt and pottukadalai and blend.
  • Add little water and blend coarsely.
  • Heat little oil in pan and add mustard seeds.
  • Once it splutters add it to thuvayal.
  • Karuvaepillai thuvuyal goes good with idly/dosa/ rice.
