Falafel


Ingredients:

Channa - 1 cup 
Onion - 1/2 ( fine chop)
Garlic - 2
Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
Chilly powder - 1/2 tsp
Pepper powder - 1/4 tsp 
Lemon juice - 1 tbsp
Maida - 2 tbsp
Baking soda - 1/4 tsp (optional)

Coriander Leaves - Little Oil, Salt - As reqd

Method:
  • Soak channa overnight or for min 8 hours.
  • Now strain the water and add it in a bowl.
  • Add in onion, garlic, spice powders, coriander leaves.
  • Add in salt, lemon juice and maida.
  • Blend this coarsely without adding water.
  • Transfer this to a bowl and add baking soda and mix well.
  • Now make small balls out of this dough.
  • Heat oil in pan for frying.
  • Fry these balls and set aside.
  • Serve falafel with sauce or hummus dip.
