Prawn Ghee Roast

Ingredients:

Prawns - 250 g
Onions  - 2 (fine chop)
Red chilly powder - 1 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 1/2 tsp
Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Curry Leaves - 2 sprigs
Ghee - 4 tbsp
Water - 3-4 tbsp
Salt - As reqd

Masala:

Tomato - 2
Garlic - 7-8
Ginger - small piece
Black pepper corns - 2 tsp
Fennel seeds - 1 tsp

Method:
  • Take the items under "Masala" and grind it to a puree.
  • Don't add water while making puree.
  • Set this aside.
  • Heat ghee in a pan(non-stick pan) and add onions.
  • Saute this for a while.
  • Cook in low flame.
  • Add the blended puree, salt and spice powders.
  • Mix this well.
  • Add 3-4 tbsp of water and mix well.
  • Cover and cook for 5-6 mins.
  • Once it dries up, add the deveined prawns and curry leaves.
  • Give a mix and add 2 tbsp of ghee.
  • Cover and cook for 5 mins or till masals is nicely coated and roasted.
