GodhumaRava Pongal

 

Ingredients:

Samba Godhumai rava - 1 cup
Moong dal - 1/4 cup
Black pepper corns - 10 (crush)
Cashew Nuts - 8 
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Curry Leaves - a sprig
Ginger - small piece
Hing - Little
Ghee, Salt, Water - As reqd

Method:
  • Dry roast dal and transfer to a bowl.
  • To the same pan add in ghee.
  • Add in cumin seeds, cashew nuts, curry leaves and pepper corns.
  • Add in ginger pieces and saute.
  • Add this to dal.
  • Add in hing and rava and mix it.
  • Add in 2 1/2 cups of water.
  • Pressure cook this for 3 whistles in medium flame.
  • Add a tbsp of milk to retain the consistency.
  • Serve hot with chutney.
