Yam (SattiKaelangu) Poreyal

Ingredients:

KarunaiKaelangu - 1 (medium size)
Sambar thool - 2 tbsp
Turmeric - 1 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Urad dal - 1 tsp
Curry Leaves - A sprig
Oil,Water, Salt - As reqd

Method:
  • Peel the skin and cut into cubes.
  • Wash this nicely.
  • Add water, salt and turmeric powder to this.
  • Pressure cook for 1 whistle.
  • Once boiled strain and set aside.
  • Heat oil in pan and add mustard, cumin seeds.
  • Add in curry leaves and sambar thool.
  • Add boiled Karunaikaelangu and mix well.
  • Cook in medium flame till it is roasted.
