Millagaai Thokku

Ingredients:

Green Chilly - 8 -10
Gram dal - 1/4 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/8 tsp
Tamrind - small piece
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Urad dal - 1 tsp
Hing - Little
Oil, Salt, Water - As reqd

Method:

  • Heat oil in pan and saute green chillies.
  • Do this in a low flame.
  • Add gram dal and saute.
  • Transfer this to a bowl.
  • Add turmeric powder, salt, tamrind.
  • Add water and grind this to a paste.
  • Now heat oil in pan and add mustard, cumin and urad dal.
  • Once it splutters, add grinded paste and cook in low flame.
  • Cook until oil oozes out and keep stirring.
  • Finally add hing and cook for few seconds.
  • Serve this with idli or dosa.
