Ingredients:
Wheat flour - 3/4 cup
All purpose flour - 2 tbsp
Unsalted butter - 2 tbsp (melted)
Sugar - 2 tbsp
Salt - 1/8 tsp
Dry yeast - 1/4 + 1/8 tsp
Warm water - 1 tbsp
Warm milk - 2 tbsp
Milk - 1 tbsp(for milk wash)
Jam - 4 tbsp
Method:
- In a bowl add sugar, yeast and warm water and set aside.
- In other bowl take flour, salt and mix well.
- Once yeast is activated add it to flour and mix with a spoon.
- Now add butter, warm milk and make a dough.
- Set this aside for proofing.
- Once it doubles up in size punch down and knead.
- Divide into equal ball.
- Roll a ball to oval shape.
- Use double boiler and melt jam and set aside.
- Apply jam in the mid.
- Make slits on eitherside(like fish bone).
- Bring the slit ends together and make a braid.
- Place this in a lined baking tray.
- Apply milk wash.
- Bake this in a preheated oven(OTG) at 180°C for 12-15 mins.
- Once baked apply butter(when warm).
