Chiwda / Poha Mixture


Ingredients:

Poha - 1 cup / 100 g
Roasted gram - 2 tbsp
Groundnuts - 2 tbsp
Cashews - 6-8
Raisins - 5
Curry Leaves - 2 sprig
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Chilly powder - 1/4 tsp
White pepper powder - 1/8 tsp
Kashmiri Chilly powder - a pinch
Cumin powder - a pinch
Salt, Oil - As reqd

Method:

  • Heat oil in pan.
  • Once it is hot, reduce the flame to medium.
  • Now fry the roasted gram (pottukadalai) and once fried set aside.
  • Nod fry the groundnuts and set aside.
  • Then fry cashews and raisins one by one and set aside.
  • Add poha little by little and fry it.
  • Transfer it to a plate and fry the remaining poha.
  • Turn off the flame and add in curry leaves.
  • Transfer this to a plate.
  • Drain excess oil.
  • Add all these to a bowl and mix it.
  • Add in spice powders and salt and toss well.
  • Store it in air tight container.
  • Yields 160 g of mixture.


Note:
We found it to be spicy, you can adjust to your taste.
