Ingredients:
All purpose flour - 4 cups
Salt - 1 3/4 tsp
Sugar - 2 tbsp
Warm Milk - 1 1/2 cup
Dry yeast - 2 1/2 tsp
Butter or oil - 2 tbsp(use melted butter)
Milk powder - 1/3 cup
Method:
- In a bowl add sugar, yeast and little warm milk and set aside.
- In other bowl add flour, salt and milk powder and mix well.
- Once the yeast is activated, add it to flour mixture and mix it.
- Add rest of the milk and mix it with spatula.
- Finally add the butter and mix to form a non-sticky dough(app 10 mins kneading).
- Grease a bowl and place this dough and do grease the dough too.
- It will take an hour to proof.
- Once it is doubled in size, remove the dough and punch it.
- Roll up tightly like a log and place in greased loaf pan.
- Set it aside for second proofing(app 30-45 mins).
- Once it has doubled, brush the top with milk/oil/butter.
- Bake this in a preheated oven (OTG) at 200°C for 25-30 mins.
- Once baked brush the top with butter.
- Slice and enjoy your homemade bread.
Note:
- This recipe needs preheating for 15 mins.
- You can use honey instead of sugar.
- Also you can try the same with wheat flour.
