Channa - 1 cup
Onion - 3
Tomato - 2
Ginger Garlic Paste -1 tbsp
Cumin seeds - 1 tbsp
Coriander powder - 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 + 1/2 tsp
Chilly Powder - 2 tsp
Kasoori Methi - 1/2 tsp
Ghee - 2 tbsp
Hing - 1/2 tsp
Oil - 2 tbsp
Salt - As reqd
Method:
- Soak channa overnight and then add turmeric, hing and pressure cook for 4-5 whistles.
- In a pressure cooker add tomatoes and onion with 1 cup water and pressure cook for 3 whistles.
- Once done add them(onion and tomaotes) to a mixer jar and blend to a smooth puree.
- Heat a pan on medium flame add ghee and oil once the oil is hot add cumin allow to splutter a bit.
- Add ginger and garlic paste and fry.
- Add the dry ingredients chilly powder, coriander powder, garam masala and turmeric powder.
- Fry a bit once the spices foam up add the prepared tomato puree and mix.
- Cover and allow the oil to surface.
- Add the cooked channa and add water if needed.
- Add reqd salt and cover and cook for few mins.
