Ingredients:
Potato - 4 (boiled)
Onion - 1 (fine chopped)
Garlic flakes - 3-4(fine chopped)
Red chilly powder - 1 tbsp
Garam Masala powder -1 tsp
Fennel powder - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Besan Flour - 1 tbsp
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Urad dal - 1 tsp
Dry red chilly - 2
Curry Leaves - Little
Salt, Oil, Water - As reqd
Method:
- In a bowl add salt, turmeric and potatoes and boil it.
- Strain water and mash the potatoes roughly and set aside.
- Heat oil in pan and add mustard seeds and urad dal.
- Add curry leaves, dry red chilly, onion and saute for a while.
- Add garlic and saute for a while.
- Now add potatoes and mix well and cook in low flame for few mins.
- Then add all spice powders and mix well.
- Add little oil and cook for few mins.
- Add the besan flour and mix nicely.
- Cook this in low flame for 4 mins.
- Spicy urulai potalam is ready.
