Apple - 2 (peeled and chopped)
Glazed Cherry - 8-10 (chopped)
Brown Sugar - 1/2 cup
Unsalted butter - 2 tbsp
Cinnamon powder - 1 tsp
Nutmeg powder - 1/8 tsp
Pie Crust Dough
Milk - 1/2 tbsp
Brown sugar - 1 tbsp (to sprinkle)
Method:
- Add apple to pan and saute for few minutes.
- Now add the butter, sugar and cherries.
- Keep mixing till all in binded together.
- Now add the spice powders and mix well.
- Cook in low flame for 8-10 mins.
- Set this aside.
- Now take the pie dough and divide it into 2 parts.
- Take one portion and roll it.
- Fix it in greased pan and trim the edges.
- Add the filling to this.
- Spread it.
- Now take the other portion.
- I felt I had less dough to cover the pie.
- So I cut heart shapes of the rolled dough.
- Arranged them over the filling.
- Apply milk wash and sprinkle brown sugar on top.
- Bake this in a preheated oven (OTG) at 180°C for 35-38 mins.
- Once done, place the pan on top of a inverted glass.
- Doing this way we can remove the outer ring of pan.
- Now transfer the pie to serving plate and slice and enjoy.
- Can serve this with a scoop of ice-cream.
Sprinkling sugar on top of pie is optional.
